Fresh from winning the prestigious W3 Silver Award, the recently revamped SingStat website has clinched yet another accolade, none other than the coveted IMA Best in Class award. The annual Interactive Media Awards (IMA) recognise the highest standards of excellence in website design and development and honour organisations and individuals for their outstanding achievements.
The SingStat website distinguished itself from over 130 entries submitted in the 'Government' category in the 2013 award year to win the IMA Best in Class award. The highest honour bestowed by IMA, the Best in Class award represents the very best in planning, execution and overall professionalism, an achievement which only a fraction of sites in the competition earn each year.
Created by the Interactive Media Council, Inc. (IMC), a non-profit organisation of leading web designers, developers, programmers, advertisers and other web-related professionals, the competition is designed to elevate the standards of excellence on the Internet and offer winners a boost in marketing and exposure. IMC serves as the primary sponsor and governing body of the IMA, establishes the judging system and provides the judges for the competition.
The competition utilises a comprehensive points-based scoring system which allows each entry to receive a maximum of 500 points across five criteria comprising design, content, usability, feature functionality and standards compliance, with a score from 0 to 100 awarded for each criterion.
The SingStat website attained an overall score of 487 out of 500, with perfect scores of 100 for content and feature functionality, and scores of 95 and above for design, usability and standards compliance.
Attaining the IMA Best in Class award represents another feather in the cap for the SingStat website, which also garnered the W3 Silver Award following its recent revamp in March 2013.
