The SingStat website has garnered the prestigious W3 Silver Award, following its recent revamp on 13 March 2013. The annual W3 Awards honour creative excellence on the web and recognise the creative and marketing professionals behind award-winning websites, videos and marketing programmes.
Entries are judged by the International Academy of the Visual Arts, an invitation-only body comprising top-tier professionals from leading media, interactive, advertising and marketing firms. This year’s awards attracted more than 4,000 entries from various companies and agencies from around the globe. Websites were evaluated based on a set of criteria including usability, functionality, creativity, navigation and visual design.
Winning the W3 Silver Award is a testament to the significant transformation that the SingStat website has undergone, be it in terms of its visually appealing look and feel, enhanced user interface, improved navigation, dynamic graphs and charts, and new mobile-friendly version. Since the launch of the revamped SingStat website, other new features that have been progressively rolled out to include a new range of infographics offering a unique take on the presentation of statistics. These enhancements form part of our ongoing efforts to continually enhance the experience of visitors to the SingStat website as the gateway to official statistics on Singapore’s economy and population.
The Department of Statistics would like to thank all visitors to the SingStat website for your valuable support as well as your constructive feedback and suggestions, without which the recent website revamp would not have been possible. Do stay tuned for further improvements in the pipeline, including the launch of the subsequent phase of SingStat Table Builder with more data from a range of statistical domains to be made available for users to plot graphs and charts as well as build customised data tables and export them in different file formats.
