Deputy Director /
Senior Assistant Director
(Human Resource Management)

As a Deputy Director / Senior Assistant Director (HRM), you will :-

Plan, co-ordinate and provide guidance on a wide spectrum of HR functions including change management, recruitment, performance and talent management, training and development.
Develop HR strategies and programmes to implement a learning culture and maximize human potential across all staff categories.
Identify emerging HR trends, issues and opportunities to project the Department of Statistics (DOS) as an Employer of Choice.

Requirements:

A Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Studies or Business Administration or other related discipline.
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience. HR experience in the public sector will have an added advantage.
Possess strong team leadership and people development skills.
Possess strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills as well as strategic thinking abilities.
 

Senior Assistant Director
(Project Governance)

As a Senior Assistant Director (Project Governance), you will primarily be responsible for developing and implementing the Singapore Department of Statistics Project Governance in support of the Department’s missions and objectives.

You will :-

Establish the framework for project governance —including defining roles and accountabilities, policies, standards and associated processes.
Evaluate project proposals for optimal effectiveness.

Work with subject matters divisions to identify the ‘desired business outcomes’ and assess the benefits and value of projects.
Monitor implementation progress, stakeholder’s commitment, milestones / KPI achieved and final deliverables.
Identify obstacles, manage the critical success factors and provide solutions.

Requirements:

A degree preferably in Information Sciences, Computer Sciences, Information Technology, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience in IT project management or IT governance preferred.
Good communication and inter-personal skill.
Able to work independently as well as in a team.
 

Assistant Director (Corporate Communications)
 

You will provide support to subject-matter Divisions in presenting and communicating key statistical information releases to the media and general public effectively. You will develop and implement corporate communication initiatives to enhance the Department's corporate image, as well as organise and coordinate corporate communication activities for the Department including media relations, promoting the Department's products and services..

 

Requirements:
You should:

have an Honours degree with a good academic record
preferably have knowledge in Economics, Statistics or subjects with substantial quantitative content
have at least 4 years' relevant experience, preferably in the area of Corporate Communications
possess strong command of written and oral communications
have good inter-personal skills i.e. people-oriented with ability to cultivate networks and relationship
have keen interest in current affairs, politics and economic/social issues

 

 

Statistician
 

As a member of statistics team, you will be responsible for the collection and compilation of statistics in one or more specific fields, conduct statistical research and analysis, develop new systems and indicators to support users' statistical requirements. You will participate in and work with a wide spectrum of statistical data to assist in decision- and policy-making. You are comfortable working both alone and as a member of a team.

 

You may specialise in one or more of the following fields:
Economic statistics
Income and expenditure statistics
Population and demographic statistics
Business statistics
Price statistics

 

Requirements:

At least a good honours degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics or other related disciplines and subjects with substantial quantitative content. Eg. Accountancy, Information Technology which are relevant for specific jobs.
Possess strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to learn and apply computer packages for statistical work.

Any related work experience is a plus.

 

Management Support Officer (MSO)

MSO (Statistical)
As a Management Support Officer (Statistical), you will provide support in the preparation of statistical publications, provision of statistical information services to the public, and database maintenance.

Requirement:
A diploma in Business Administration, Business Studies, Banking & Finance, Accountancy or Information Technology.

Commencing Gross Monthly Salary:
 
  Statistician from $2,992
  Management Support Officer from $1,730


The commencing salary will commensurate with educational qualifications, NS and relevant working experience.

Attractive and market competitive benefits include 13th month, mid-year & year-end payments, market adjustment component for statisticians, 18 days' vacation leave & 14 days' medical leave, medical & dental subsidies and use of government holiday bungalows.
