They are Singmarine Dockyard & Engineering Pte Ltd (now known as Keppel Singmarine Dockyard Pte Ltd), The Straits Trading Company Limited, Straits Steamship Land Limited (Keppel Land Limited), Algemene Bank Nederland N.V. (ABN Amro Bank N.V.) and Fraser and Neave Limited. The highest survival rates are found among those which registered in the 1960's, with 47 per cent still in operation presently. The norm is about one-third. "Young" firms, operating for less than 20 years, form the largest proportion of "live" enterprises (81 per cent). Businesses registered before 1960 form only one per cent of the "live" enterprises.
