The educational profile of the Singapore residents has improved. Among residents aged 25 - 39 years, the proportion of university graduates increased from 6.7% in 1990 to 43% in 2009. Only 10% of the resident population aged 25-39 years in 2009 had below secondary qualifications, down from 47% in 1990.
