Available Room Nights

Total number of room nights during the period that are available for paying guests. Excludes rooms that are temporarily closed.

Average Occupancy Rate

Percentage of available rooms sold during a specified time period. Excludes rooms that are temporarily closed.

Average Room Rate

A measure of the average rate paid for rooms sold. Excludes service charge, government taxes and rooms that are temporarily closed.

Gazetted Hotels

Gazetted hotels refer to licensed hotels that are specified in the relevant Singapore Tourism (Cess Collection) Act subsidiary legislation as tourism event establishments.

International Visitor Arrivals

Refer to international visitors whose length of stay is less than a year in Singapore. This excludes:

• Malaysian citizens arriving by land; 
• Returning Singapore citizens, permanent residents and pass holders;
• Crew on public modes of transport;
• Military personnel; and
• Transit and transfer passengers.

Length of Stay

Refers to the duration between the arrival date and departure date for each visitor.

Place of Residence:

Place of Residence refers to where a visitor resides for more than a year and/or consider the place his/her centre of economic interest.

Outbound Departures

Refer to the number of Singapore residents leaving Singapore. Mode of transport refers to the type of checkpoint (Air/ Sea) used at departure.

Comprise any expenditure incurred by visitors (including transit passengers, foreign air/sea crew and foreign students) during their stay in Singapore as well as the amount they prepaid on components such as accommodation and sightseeing tours before arrival.
