Overview
Data on deaths are compiled by the Registry of Births and Deaths, which cover all deaths occurring within Singapore and its territorial waters as registered under the prevailing Registration of Births and Deaths Act in force at the material time.
Data on life expectancy compiled by the Singapore Department of Statistics are based on the Complete Life Tables. Data on life expectancy gives an indication of the average longevity of the population.
