Proportion of persons who had at least one contact with a public official and who paid a bribe to a public official, or were asked for a bribe by those public officials, during the previous 12 months
The corruption situation in Singapore remains firmly under control. The number of cases involving public officials is low at an annual average of 10 cases over the past five years. Singapore continues to be highly regarded internationally for our anti-corruption effort, and consistently ranks well under international indices such as the Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index. The latest 2025 TI-CPI ranked Singapore as the world's third least corrupt country. In addition, the 2025 annual Public Perception Survey commissioned by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau of Singapore and conducted by an independent survey provider in 2025 also saw 98% of respondents indicating positive ratings on the corruption situation in Singapore. These indicated that Singapore continues to make good progress relative to SDGs 16.5.1 and 16.5.2.
