Data refer to the number of live-births per 1,000 females in the specified age group (10-14 years and 15-19 years).

Concepts

This indicator represents the risk of childbearing among females in the respective age group.
From 1980 onwards, data pertain to resident population (i.e., Singapore citizens or permanent residents).

Computational Method

(Number of live-births to females in the specified age group) / (Number of females in the specified age group) x 1,000

Disaggregation

Disaggregation is available by age groups (10-14 years and 15-19 years).

Data Collection

Birth registration data and population estimates are used to derive the adolescent birth rate.

Time Period

Age group 10-14 years: 1989 onwards
Age group 15-19 years: 1960 onwards
