To ensure that women's rights are protected in all areas of their lives, the Government regularly reviews and updates our legislation to enhance the protection of women. For example, to strengthen access to fair and merit-based employment opportunities, we passed the Workplace Fairness Act this year, which will prohibit workplace discrimination on the basis of sex, marital status, pregnancy status, and caregiving responsibilities, among other protected characteristics.
