Definitions

Data refer to the proportion of resident females (i.e., Singapore citizens and permanent residents) aged 20-24 years who were married before the specified ages 15 years and 18 years.

Concepts

This indicator is based on marriages registered under the Women's Charter and the Administration of Muslim Law Act.

Computational Method

(Number of resident females aged 20-24 years who were married before the specified age) / (Number of resident females aged 20-24 years) x 100%

Disaggregation

Disaggregation is available by age at marriage/union (before 15 and before 18 years).

Marriage registration data and population estimates are used to derive the proportion of women aged 20-24 years who were married before ages 15 and 18 years.
