Unit of Measurement: Per Cent
Definitions
Data refer to the proportion of inhabitants living within range of at least a 2G mobile-cellular signal.
Concepts
An inhabitant is considered within range of a mobile-cellular signal irrespective of whether or not they are subscribers. Note that this is not the same as the mobile subscription density or subscription penetration. While there are multiple operators offering the service, each inhabitant covered by any of the operators is reported once and hence the computed figures cannot exceed 100%.
Data from June 2011 onwards were re-computed based on the mid-year population data for that year as released by the Singapore Department of Statistics.
Computational Method
(Number of inhabitants within range of the specified mobile-cellular signal) / (Total population) x 100%
