About Singapore’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) Estimates
GDP measures the aggregate value of final goods and services produced within Singapore’s economic territory.
Singapore’s GDP is compiled using three approaches – production, expenditure and income – with production as the primary approach. GDP estimates are available in both nominal and real terms under the production and expenditure approaches, and in nominal terms only under the income approach. Nominal GDP measures the value of goods and services produced at current prices, while real GDP adjusts for price changes to reflect the volume of economic activity. Headline GDP growth is generally in real terms.
About the Advance Gross Domestic Product (GDP) Estimates
Advance GDP estimates are compiled using the production approach, largely based on data in the first two months of the quarter. They are intended as an early indication of GDP growth in the quarter and are subject to revision when more comprehensive data become available.
