Services Producer Price Indices, 2nd Quarter 2026

Key Highlights

On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the Sea Freight Transport and Freight Forwarding price indices increased sharply by 25.4% and 10.2% respectively in 2Q 2026. Other indices that rose included Postal & Courier (7.1%), Cargo Handling (2.7%), Warehousing & Storage (0.6%) and Computer Consultancy & Information Services (0.3%). In contrast, the Accounting Services and Telecommunications Services price indices declined by 1.8% and 1.0% respectively.

On a year-on-year basis, Sea Freight Transport and Freight Forwarding increased 32.6% and 14.9% respectively in 2Q 2026. Other indices that rose were Postal & Courier (11.6%), Cargo Handling (3.5%), Warehousing & Storage (3.2%), Accounting Services (1.6%) and Computer Consultancy & Information Services (0.1%), while the Telecommunications Services declined 0.7%.

The quarter-on-quarter and year-on-year increases in some of the indices were mainly driven by higher fuel costs and other operating cost pressures amid conflicts in the Middle East. This was particularly the case for Sea Freight Transport and Freight Forwarding, which recorded larger increases than the other indices.

About this Publication

The Services Producer Price Indices (SPPIs) measure changes in the average prices of services produced by establishments, for selected industries of the Singapore economy. The prices captured reflect the amount received by a producer, exclusive of any taxes. The SPPIs are aligned to the Singapore Standard Industrial Classification.

They are calculated using the modified Laspeyres price index formula with fixed base weights, where the weights reference period precedes the price reference period.
